Master plan for the ecological restoration of Kamai Karhala forest
Project overview₹4.2 CrFunding required

The proposed project aims to restore 17.5 hectares of degraded sacred land at Kamai–Karhala village near Barsana into a thriving native Braj forest using the Heartfulness ecological restoration method.

The proposal focuses on removing invasive vegetation, regenerating soil health, and establishing diverse native tree species to recreate the ancient forest ecosystem. Eco-friendly pathways, rainwater harvesting structures, groundwater recharge, wetlands, and irrigation water storage will strengthen the site’s ecological resilience. The restored forest will enhance biodiversity, improve water conservation, preserve the sacred landscape of Braj, and provide a peaceful natural environment for meditation, learning, and community participation while ensuring long-term sustainability.
